Meeting Information
The Auxiliary meets monthly from September to May to hear someone directly connected with the Ranch tell his or her “story.” Whether they are a houseparent, board member, staff member, resource/relief parent, or a former resident, they always have a unique perspective to share with us. From these meetings, members are able to learn different ways they can help the children through supporting the houseparents and staff at the Ranch.
Meetings:
2nd Tuesday of the Month (September to May)
The meeting starts at 10:30. Enjoy visiting and goodies prior to the meeting.

WAYS TO SERVE
Members of the Auxiliary may sign up to be a part of one or more of our different ministries.
Card Ministry
Each boy, girl, housemom, and housedad is assigned to a member who prays for that person and also sends cards on special occasions.
Boutique and Outfitters
In June 2007, The Auxiliary opened the “Boutique” at the Girls’ Ranch to provide items for the girls that may not be covered in the Big Oak budget. In March 2008, the “Outfitters” was opened at the Boys’ Ranch to provide the boys with a similar opportunity.
The children earn “points” for academic achievements, good behavior, and going above and beyond what is required in the home. These points are used to purchase new items in the Boutique and Outfitters – all of which are provided solely by The Auxiliary.
Members sign up to volunteer for the monthly visits to both the Boutique and the Outfitters. This is a great opportunity to get to know other Auxiliary members, the Ranch staff, and the children. Come help the children have a wonderful shopping experience!!!
Food & Clothing Shed
Auxiliary members volunteer on a regular basis to help organize food and clothing donatios at both the Boys' & Girls' Ranches.
Housemothers’ Brunch
Each December, The Auxiliary honors the housemothers at a Christmas brunch in Hudson Hall at Mountain Brook Baptist Church. Auxiliary members bring their favorite brunch food, enjoy the time to visit with each other and the housemothers, and then get to hear the house moms share a favorite story from the past year.
Housemothers' Retreat
Every year in February the housemothers of Big Oak Ranch gather for a time of rest and relaxation, Bible study, fellowship and delicious food. Members are given the opportunity to make donations to cover the expenses, provide food and pray for the housemothers as they are away from their families for the weekend.
Prayer Ministry
Brodie Croyle has shared with The Auxiliary that the most important thing the members can do for the children of Big Oak Ranch is to pray specifically for the children to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This can be done individually or in an intercessory prayer group.
